Legal Requirements
(Documents required for Marriage in Australia must be Original Certificates and sighted by your Celebrant prior to Marriage. You must by law be over the age of 18 years.)

Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM).

Original Birth Certificates (if born in Australia).

Current International Passport (if you are from another country).

Change of Name Certificate.

Decree Absolute (if you have been previously married and divorced).

Death Certificate of spouse if you have been widowed.

If any of the above documents are not in English, they will need to be officially translated by a legally recognized and authorized person. The Celebrant will need to see both the original documents and the translated documents.

The Notice of Intended marriage Form (NOIM) (Form 13) may be downloaded from
www.ag.gov.au/celebrants.

The form must be completed and then signed by both Bride and Groom in the presence of one of the following:

     An Authorised Celebrant
     A Justice of The Peace
     A Commissioner for Statutory Declarations
     A Barrister or Solicitor
     A legally qualified Medical Practitioner
     A Member of the Federal Police
     A Member of a State or Territory Police Force

The NOIM form needs to be received by me, no later than one month prior to the date of your intended marriage, and is only valid for 18 months.

Also, if you are from overseas, the NOIM form needs to be signed and witnessed in the presence of one of the following officials, the official must also stamp and date the document.

     An Australian Embassy official
     An Australian Consular officer
     A Notary Public – (Law Firm)

Witnesses
Two witnesses over the age of 18years are required on the day of the ceremony for witnessing and signing of the Marriage Register. They may be friends or family but if they are from another country they must be able to speak and understand English.

My Fee
A quote for your ceremony will be provided upon your enquiry. A non refundable Booking fee applies, to confirm and hold your requested date, with the balance due prior to your ceremony (usually at the time of the rehearsal).

Payment can be made by cash if you are in the local area or otherwise by direct deposit.

Upon deposit being received, I will be happy to provide you with my sample folder which includes ideas for ceremonies, vows, readings, and symbolic ceremonies.
